Call me Sam

Samantha Manuzza

Creativity is only limited by the drive of an individual.

With passion, determination, and a little flair, I know I can make an impact in the media industry.

As of January 2024, I am a Content Producer for MSNBC's Social Media and Content Strategy team.

In this role, I film and edit original video content daily, clip from live news broadcasts, strategize future content opportunities,

and contribute to weekly analytics meetings. I share both breaking news and editorial content to all network social media accounts

including TikTok, Instagram, X, and YouTube while collaborating with MSNBC show producers on daily content.

In just under 9 months, across YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, MSNBC is set to garner more than 450 million video views

with triple-digit year-over-year growth. Since I joined the team in January 2024, we surpassed 5 million followers

on TikTok and reached record levels 12 times larger than the account's performance in the same month of 2023.

Of our TikTok account's more than 3 billion total video views in 2024, over 400 million of those views were gained through videos

I pitched and created. My team has additionally been nominated for a 2025 Webby Award in the General Social, News & Politics category.

After graduating from Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism, I began working for

NBCUniversal's MSNBC Weekend Reports as an Anchor Production Assistant to Lindsey Reiser in November 2021.

In April 2022, The Katie Phang Show launched on MSNBC and Peacock to replace it and my role expanded to Anchor PA and

Social Media Producer for both the live broadcast and pre-taped Peacock shows. I solely managed our TikTok, Instagram, X (Twitter), and Facebook accounts. As the Social Media Producer, I was entirely responsible for creating and managing all accounts further expanding our growing audience. In less than one year, I was able to cultivate over 100k net followers across our four platforms

with over 1 million likes on TikTok and 1.1 million average weekly impressions on X (Twitter).

I additionally worked as a writer for the MSNBC live show, contributing readers and fully produced segments.

After spending a little over a year with The Katie Phang Show, I accepted a position as the Social Media Producer for MSNBC’s Yasmin Vossoughian Reports airing weekends 2-4pm. In this role, I again solely managed our three social media platforms. In my first month alone,

we saw a 70% spike in weekly Twitter impressions and a 331% increase in TikTok video views. I was additionally in charge of two interns who reported directly to me. I assigned and edited projects, compiled social media analytics and reported trends weekly with them to improve the accounts’ engagement and promote growth, while educating and training potential incoming NBCUniversal employees.

Our team for Yasmin Vossoughian Reports was honored at the 35th GLAAD Media Awards for Outstanding LIVE TV Journalism

with a segment titled "Indiana Students put on LGBTQ-themed Play Themselves After it's Canceled by the School."

In addition to my above experience, I am trained in graphics as well as booking. I worked closely with the Katie Phang and Yasmin Vossoughian teams' Booking Producers through weekly correspondence with guests, including members of Congress and other public figures,

and completed pre-interviews with detailed notes to better assist the shows' writers.

During my time at Penn State, I worked as the Interview Anchor and Entertainment Anchor for Penn State Network News,

an entirely student-run organization broadcasting across the state of Pennsylvania and through YouTube Live shows.

As the interview anchor, my responsibilities included: identifying relevant story opportunities, developing questions, conducting

and solely producing interviews with guests for weekly segments both in-person and remotely via Zoom.

I was able to secure and produce an interview with the co-host of America's Newsroom, Dana Perino,

about her 2021 Best Selling book which provides advice to young women coming up in the media industry.

Before PSN-News, I held a year-long internship with PSUBarstool, a direct affiliate of Barstool Sports. There, I worked as an

On-camera Personality and Social Media Manager. My job entailed creating and editing video content for all social media platforms

including X (Twitter), Instagram, and TikTok. I am the creator/ former Co-Host of the #GirlsonGameday weekly video segments

designed to drive more female awareness for all social media platforms.

As an intern, I was responsible for the female audience among the 300k+ total followers more than doubling from 2019-2020:

63% of the accounts' new followers were women.

In my free time, I enjoy several hobbies including photography and writing poetry.

My poetry has been published in several issues of a quarterly online literary magazine, Natural Traveler.

You can find samples of my work here on my site as well.
